After flying high against Amelia Academy last Tuesday, Fuqua came back down to earth. The Falcons fell 9-5 to the Southampton Academy Raiders on Tuesday. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kaylie Ledger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Elizabeth Ledger was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Fuqua's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Southampton Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fuqua will head out to challenge Temple Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Southampton Academy, they will face off against Brunswick Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
