Pearland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Shadow Creek Sharks. Considering the Oilers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pearland's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shadow Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pearland and Shadow Creek will both be playing South Houston the next time they take the field. Shadow Creek will host South Houston at 6:03 p.m. on Friday, while Pearland will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
