Basketball Game Preview: Olympic Trojans vs. Corvian Community Cardinals

The Olympic Trojans will face off against the Corvian Community Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Olympic and three for Corvian Community.

Last Saturday, Olympic was beaten by Myers Park 87-51.

Jaden Hardnett put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 6-for-10 on his way to 18 points. His big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

Meanwhile, Corvian Community ended up a good deal behind West Cabarrus on Friday and lost 60-41.

Olympic will have to contain Brycen Hinnant as he made an impact in Corvian Community's last game. He shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Maxwell Garvin, who posted four points and seven rebounds.

Olympic's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Corvian Community, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.

Olympic beat Corvian Community 56-46 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
