Preview: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Alvarado Indians

Ferris is 2-8 against Alvarado since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ferris Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Alvarado Indians at 7:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Ferris: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Alvarado has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Ferris pushed their score all the way to 67 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 86-67 to Kennedale. Ferris has struggled against Kennedale recently, as their game on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

The losing side was boosted by Josiah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Airon Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.

Ferris was without their leading scorer, Julio Morales, in Friday's game. With Morales sitting this one out, Roland Gillespie got some extra time on the court (21 vs. his season average of 5.89). Gillespie made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points along with five assists. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, everything went Alvarado's way against Life Waxahachie on Friday as Alvarado made off with a 62-38 win.

Ferris has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-20 record this season. As for Alvarado, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Ferris barely slipped by Alvarado in their previous meeting back in January, winning 61-60. Does Ferris have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alvarado turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
