Volleyball Recap: Dayton Broncos vs. Splendora Wildcats

Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Splendora Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Broncos of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.

While Dayton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Among those leading the charge was Morgan Johnson, who had 18 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Brewer, who had ten digs and three aces.

Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Splendora, their victory bumped their record up to 22-9.

Dayton will venture away from home to take on Kingwood Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Splendora, they will welcome Porter at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Porter is coming into the contest with three straight wins on the road, so Splendora will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
