Baseball Recap: Shadow Creek Wins Going Away Against Manvel

Shadow Creek barely beat Manvel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went the Shadow Creek Sharks' way against the Manvel Mavericks on Tuesday as the Shadow Creek Sharks made off with an 8-2 win. Considering the Sharks have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Nolan Wheeler looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lubin Rincon, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Allen Cross, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Shadow Creek's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-5. As for Manvel, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Shadow Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Manvel: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
