Basketball Recap: Northwest Webster's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

Northwest Webster entered their contest against St. Edmond on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Northwest Webster Cougars took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Edmond Gaels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 71-53 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Northwest Webster's defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3. As for St. Edmond, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.

Northwest Webster won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Emmetsburg at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Emmetsburg will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Northwest Webster surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Edmond, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Webster City at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
