Basketball Recap: High Point Central Find Success

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but High Point Central had no problem doing just that on Friday. They escaped with a win against the Robinson Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 72-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bison have posted since December 10, 2024.

Josiah Hill continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6-for-14 to rack up 26 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Williams, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Despite the loss, Robinson still got an impressive performance from Da'Montre Harlee, who shot 89% from the field on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. Those 89% shooting accuracy gave Harlee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was David Frazier, who put up 11 points and eight boards.

High Point Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. The loss snapped Robinson's winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 25-4 record.

High Point Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-47 defeat against Huss on the 4th. Robinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
