Baseball Recap: Canterbury Triumphs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Canterbury walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Northside Christian Mustangs a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

The result came thanks to Ashby Piatt's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ever Silvente, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. Maddux Wolff was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Canterbury's record is now 25-3. As for Northside Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-16.

Looking ahead, Canterbury will take on Neumann on Friday. Northside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
