Basketball Game Preview: Oak Ridge Wildcats vs. Sevier County Smoky Bears

Oak Ridge is on a 12-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Sevier County is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Oak Ridge Wildcats will welcome the Sevier County Smoky Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Oak Ridge beat Fulton 54-49. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Falcons are ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sevier County didn't have too much trouble with Morristown-Hamblen West on Thursday as they won 77-58. The win continues a trend for the Smoky Bears in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Oak Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.9 points over those games. As for Sevier County, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.
