Volleyball Recap: Jordan Pierce and Liam Bade Secure Win for Chaparral

Chaparral won the last time they faced Amplus Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cowboys blew past the Archers 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cowboys.

While Chaparral won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

Chaparral was led to victory by Liam Bade and Jordan Pierce. Bade had ten kills and two blocks, while Pierce had 14 kills, six digs, and two aces. Pierce is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last 57 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Cunanan, who had nine digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good server: Chaparral was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are 8-4 when they serve at least ten aces.

The win got Chaparral back to even at 15-15. As for Amplus Academy, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chaparral will face off against rival Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amplus Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Del Sol at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
