Preview: West Rowan Falcons vs. Salisbury Hornets
Having just played yesterday, the West Rowan Falcons will get right back to it and host the Salisbury Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th. West Rowan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Salisbury likes a good challenge.
West Rowan scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They secured a 77-72 W over Carson. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Evan Kennedy , who scored 26 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Will Givens Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Salisbury has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 34 points or more this season. They breezed by East Rowan at home to the tune of 73-26. That looming 73-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Salisbury yet this season.
West Rowan's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Carson, they, and East Rowan. As for Salisbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
West Rowan was able to grind out a solid victory over Salisbury when the teams last played back in December of 2021, winning 66-55. Does West Rowan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Salisbury turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
