Basketball Recap: Springville's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After a string of four wins, Springville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of the Alburnett Pirates by a score of 60-58. The contest marked the Orioles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Springville's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Alburnett, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Springville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Edgewood-Colesburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Springville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Edgewood-Colesburg likes a good challenge. As for Alburnett, they and Osage will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Osage will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Alburnett surely won't give up without a fight.
