Preview: West Bladen Knights vs. St. Pauls Bulldogs

West Bladen is 0-10 against St. Pauls since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Bladen Knights will head out on the road to take on the St. Pauls Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: West Bladen has struggled recently with eight losses in a row, while St. Pauls will arrive with five straight victories.

Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but West Bladen had to settle for a 41-39 defeat against Midway. West Bladen has not had much luck with Midway recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but St. Pauls ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Fairmont with a 52-48 win.

St. Pauls' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jashontae Harris, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Harris has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zhariana Shipman, who scored 14 points.

West Bladen's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for St. Pauls, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
