            Hopkinsville can  bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Union County Braves as the Hopkinsville Tigers made off with  an  11-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the  game before.
 Gavin Mitchell was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3. That  run was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Dylan Sweeney was a standout: he scored three  runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March of 2024.  Gavin Powell was another key player,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Hopkinsville  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union County only posted  an  OBP of  .292.

Hopkinsville's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Hopkinsville Tigers  take on  Logan County Cougars at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Union County, they will square off against Crittenden County at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
