Recap: Rustburg Red Devils vs. Tunstall Trojans
The Rustburg Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 52-29 margin over Tunstall. The win was just what Rustburg needed coming off of a 49-18 loss in their prior match.
Leading Rustburg to victory were Haven Grinstead and Maddie Knowles. Grinstead scored 17 points, while Knowles scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Knowles scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Samiyah Jackson, who scored six points.
Rustburg's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Tunstall, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
After both having extra time off, Rustburg and Heritage will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Tunstall and Bassett will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
