Softball Recap: Ashley Screaming Eagle vs. East Bladen Eagles

Ashley managed to slip by East Bladen the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Ashley Screaming Eagle came up short against the East Bladen Eagles on Thursday, falling 15-2. The Screaming Eagle were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Ashley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Rigdon, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Rigdon hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Ashley and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for East Bladen, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

As for East Bladen, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on East Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Columbus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.9 runs per game this season.
