Volleyball Recap: Pope Beats Walton for Their Sixth Straight Win

Pope extended their winning streak to six on Saturday, bumping them up to 14-3. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Walton Raiders. This was a revenge game for the Greyhounds: when they faced off against the Raiders two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Melissa Seixas paced Pope's offense, picking up nine kills. Seixas got some help from Jahan Lalli and her 27 assists. Finally, Gretchen Eichelzer kept Pope's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Walton fell to 8-1. The match marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

Walton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ella Cobb, who had 14 digs and one assist, and Kylie Downs, who had 12 assists and six digs.

Looking ahead, Pope will host Marist at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walton, they will head out on the road to take on Cartersville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
