Softball Preview: Badin Rams vs. Hamilton Big Blue
The Badin Rams will take on the Hamilton Big Blue at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hamilton will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Badin extended their winning streak to five on Thursday. The Rams blew past Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 20-3.
Kendall Ponatosaki made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs.
In other batting news, Badin got a massive performance out of Emily O'Brien, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs O'Brien has posted since back in March. Ella Kent was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Badin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hamilton made easy work of Colerain on Friday and carried off a 15-3 win. The Big Blue haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Badin's record now sits at 23-2. As for Hamilton, their record is now 14-7.
