Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Mady Bavor and Delaney Wright Lead Palisade to Victory

Palisade won the last time they faced Grand Junction and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Palisade Bulldogs came out on top against the Grand Junction Tigers by a score of 41-34.

Palisade was led to victory by Delaney Wright and Mady Bavor. Wright dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards, while Bavor posted 12 points and five steals. Bavor has become a key player for Palisade: the team is 9-2 when she posts at least three steals, but 3-6 otherwise. Gracie Cooper was another key player, putting up eight points.

Palisade is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Grand Junction, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Coming up, Palisade will be playing in front of their home fans against Fruita Monument at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Fruita Monument will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Palisade surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grand Junction, they will head out on the road to challenge Grand Junction Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Grand Junction is facing Grand Junction Central at the right time seeing as Grand Junction Central is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
