Basketball Recap: San Miguel Takes a Loss

San Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 65-50 to the Santa Rita Eagles. If the Vipers were looking for revenge after losing 55-52 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

David Gonzales was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight steals and six assists for Santa Rita. Gonzales has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Ross, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 16 points.

San Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Santa Rita, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Miguel will face off against Ray at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Santa Rita, they will take on Baboquivari at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
