Basketball Recap: Botkins Comes Up Short

Botkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 76-34 loss at the hands of the Fort Loramie Redskins. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Redskins are ranked 38th).

Botkins' defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Fort Loramie, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Botkins will challenge Russia at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Russia will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Botkins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fort Loramie, they will take on Jackson Center at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fort Loramie's defense has only allowed 29.6 points per game this season, so Jackson Center's offense will have their work cut out for them.
