Softball Recap: Auburndale's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Auburndale's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Sickles Gryphons by a score of 7-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Bloodhounds as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Malia King looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brylyn Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Gonzalez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Auburndale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Auburndale's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Sickles, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Auburndale has already played their next contest, a 15-3 loss against Tampa Catholic on the 8th. As for Sickles, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-1 defeat against Academy of the Holy Names on the 8th.
