Volleyball Recap: Cretin-Derham Hall Beats Irondale for Their Sixth Straight Win

Cretin-Derham Hall had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Irondale Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cretin-Derham Hall walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16, 25-20.

Cretin-Derham Hall had a senior duo take command as Cecilia Klein had 11 digs and two assists and Anna Penz had six aces. Those six aces set a new season-high mark for Penz. Charlotte Garman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cretin-Derham Hall was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Cretin-Derham Hall's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Irondale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Cretin-Derham Hall will head out to take on Academy of Holy Angels at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. After both having extra time off, Irondale and Forest Lake will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
