Softball Recap: St. Charles Wins Going Away Against Montabella

St. Charles had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Montabella Mustangs 14-1 on Tuesday. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Ella Mose made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Mose was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, St. Charles got a massive performance out of Kylie Fiting, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Abrielle Dinninger, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

St. Charles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Montabella only posted an OBP of .286.

St. Charles' victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 3-12. As for Montabella, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Charles will take on rival Carson City-Crystal at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Montabella is set to square off against their familiar foe Breckenridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
