Basketball Recap: Fort Yukon's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

After a string of eight wins, Fort Yukon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Fort Yukon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jane Ward, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nellie Ward, who scored ten points.

Fort Yukon's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.

Fort Yukon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-22 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 25th. Non Varsity Opponent has also already played their next matchup (against Reeths-Puffer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
