The Elkhart Lions will head out on the road to face off against the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elkhart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

South Bend Saint Joseph hit Elkhart with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 8-7.

For South Bend Saint Joseph's part, Myla Blazejewski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camille Potter, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Mary Stack also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The win made it two in a row for South Bend Saint Joseph and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Elkhart, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
