Recap: Middle Township Panthers vs. Pleasantville Greyhounds

If The Middle Township Panthers were feeling good off their 48-6 takedown of the Bridgeton Bulldogs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Middle Township took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pleasantville on Friday. It was the first time this season that Middle Township let down their fans at home.

Michael Zarfati threw for 60 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Jeremiah Jones was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Remi Rodriguez rushed for 81 yards.

Pleasantville was led to victory by Rashad Floyd and Ahmad Jones. Floyd rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, while Jones threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.

Middle Township's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Pleasantville, the win was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Middle Township will head out on the road to face off against Gloucester City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Gloucester City is ranked 109th, while Middle Township is ranked 99th). As for Pleasantville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
