Basketball Game Preview: Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes vs. Sherrard Tigers

The Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes and the Sherrard Tigers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

On Friday, Abingdon/Avon was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to Scales Mound.

Meanwhile, Sherrard came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 55-53 victory from a begrudging Tigers squad.

Abingdon/Avon now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Sherrard, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Abingdon/Avon was able to grind out a solid victory over Sherrard in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, winning 54-47. Will Abingdon/Avon repeat their success, or does Sherrard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
