Preview: Belleview Rattlers vs. Vanguard Knights
Belleview has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Vanguard Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Belleview will be strutting in after a victory while Vanguard will be coming in after a loss.
Belleview scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Ocala Christian 67-36 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Belleview has posted since November 27, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Belleview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Demarcus Mcdaniel, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Wilson, who scored 13 points.
Vanguard suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 74-29 defeat at the hands of Williston. While losing is never fun, Vanguard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Williston is ranked ninth).
Belleview's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-13. As for Vanguard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
Belleview might still be hurting after the 79-53 defeat they got from Vanguard in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Belleview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
