Basketball Recap: Albert Lea Comes Up Short

Albert Lea lost against Mayo back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Albert Lea Tigers might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Mayo Spartans an easy 89-68 win. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (63), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Albert Lea dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mayo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albert Lea and Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton will round out the year against one another at at 6:45 p.m. on December 27th. Mayo will take on New Prague in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mayo is facing New Prague at the right time seeing as New Prague is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
