Baseball Game Preview: V.R. Eaton Eagles vs. Red Oak Hawks

The V.R. Eaton Eagles will take on the Red Oak Hawks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. V.R. Eaton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Red Oak's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Neither V.R. Eaton nor Lindale could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 5-5 tie.

Red Oak let Duncanville stack five runs on them in the fifth inning on Friday but luckily Red Oak prevailed anyway. The Hawks walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Panthers and Pantherettes. The Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

V.R. Eaton's draw makes their record 2-0-2 this season. As for Red Oak, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

V.R. Eaton came out on top in a nail-biter against Red Oak in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
