Arcola has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Sullivan has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Purple Riders will welcome the Redskins at 4:30 p.m. Arcola is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.9 runs per game this season.
Arcola's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] with a sharp 21-0 win. The Purple Riders have beaten the Titans the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Titans has come to flipping the script.

Brody Phillips made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brevyn Whisman, who fired off two home runs and eight RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those eight RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tanner Thomas, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Arcola was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Saturday Sullivan sidestepped Tuscola for a 1-0 victory.
Sullivan's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Crowe, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Zaden Hussong also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Sullivan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Arcola, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Sullivan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arcola hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Sullivan, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Arcola's hitters?
Everything went Arcola's way against Sullivan when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Arcola made off with an 8-2 victory. Do the Purple Riders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redskins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
