Baseball Recap: Falcon Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Falcon waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red-Tailed Hawks, too.

Brayden Millikan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ethan Gentz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Falcon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Falcon pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Cheyenne Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4-1.

Falcon and Cheyenne Mountain should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 20th) will meet Sand Creek (ranked 139th) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain will challenge Canon City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (19 vs. 91).
