Baseball Recap: South Caldwell Extends Winning Streak to Six

South Caldwell came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hibriten Panthers a 7-0 shutout. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

South Caldwell pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Hibriten, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Coming up, South Caldwell will square off against Middle Township at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hibriten, they will take on Alexander Central in a tournament on Monday.
