Recap: Greenback Cherokees vs. Oliver Springs Bobcats
After flying high against the Sunbright Tigers last Thursday, The Greenback Cherokees came back down to earth. Greenback received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 30-14 to Oliver Springs. Greenback lost against Oliver Springs in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 21-0 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Greenback lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caden Lawson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 17 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Greenback's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Oliver Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Greenback will head out on the road to face off against Cloudland at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Cloudland is ranked 294th, while Greenback is ranked 272nd). As for Oliver Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Greene at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
