The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Burroughs nor Paso Robles made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bears came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 6-1. The win was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Valentina Clemons spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Burroughs let Chloe Centeno and Karlee Earl run wild. Centeno went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Earl went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Centeno has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Burroughs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Burroughs pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Paso Robles, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9-1.

Coincidentally, Burroughs and Paso Robles will both be playing Huntington Beach the next time they take the field. The Bearcats will head out to face the Oilers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Bears will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
