Basketball Recap: Chanute Comes Up Short

If Chanute was riding high fresh off their 55-26 takedown of West last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chanute Blue Comets were beaten by the Eisenhower Tigers 64-32 on Saturday.

It was another big night for Payton Blue, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds for Eisenhower. Blue continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmarie Barger, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points.

Chanute's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Eisenhower, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8.

Chanute will take on Trinity Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eisenhower, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arkansas City at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th. Eisenhower has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
