Volleyball Recap: Hatley Gets the Win

Hatley was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They won by a set and slipped past the Myrtle Hawks 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since August 19th.

Hatley took Myrtle into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 25-9, 24-26, 22-25, 25-18, 15-10.

Maddie Cook paced Hatley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Cook got some help from Ella Powell and her eight assists. Powell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hatley's record is now 14-15. As for Myrtle, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17-1.

Coming up, Hatley will welcome Water Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Myrtle, they will challenge Hamilton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
