Baseball Recap: St. Paul Has No Trouble Against Mapleton

St. Paul won the last time they faced Mapleton and things went their way on Monday too. The Flyers blew past the Mounties 9-2. The Flyers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jacob Zuccaro was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for St. Paul: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Isaac Kalizewski also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

St. Paul's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Mapleton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

St. Paul will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mapleton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
