Softball Game Preview: Port Aransas Marlins vs. Woodsboro Eagles

Port Aransas and Woodsboro are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Marlins will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Port Aransas had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Yorktown on Friday. The Marlins blew past the Wildcats 17-2. The Marlins haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Woodsboro had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Bobcats 7-5.

The victory got Port Aransas back to even at 12-12. As for Woodsboro, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
