Basketball Recap: Orange Glen Takes a Loss

Orange Glen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors and fell 90-20. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1308th, while the Conquerors are ranked 176th).

It was another big night for Augustine Youssef, who went 14 for 20 on his way to 33 points and three steals for Desert Christian Academy. Youssef's morning made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Reynolds, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Orange Glen's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Desert Christian Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Orange Glen won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rancho Mirage at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Desert Christian Academy, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Dana Hills at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Desert Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
