Recap: Richfield Wildcats vs. Pine View Panthers
After a string of three wins, the Richfield Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 62-50 to Pine View. Richfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pine View apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Garrett Wayman, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Miles Barnett, who scored 8 points.
Nash Schroeder went supernova for Pine View, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Schroeder has scored at least 25% of Pine View's points. Griffen Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Richfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Pine View, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Richfield will head out on the road to face off against Ogden at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Ogden presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Richfield in Utah (Ogden is ranked 20th, while Richfield is ranked 60th). As for Pine View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rancho at 7:00 p.m.
