Soccer Game Preview: McGavock vs. Liberty Creek

The McGavock Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Liberty Creek Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

McGavock lost 4-1 to Overton on Tuesday. McGavock have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Liberty Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Patriots. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Liberty Creek's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while White House-Heritage are ranked 236th).

Rhett Sanders and Yosua Jimenez scored both of Liberty Creek's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

McGavock now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Liberty Creek, their win bumped their record up to 7-3-1.

McGavock took their victory against Liberty Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
