Preview: Harnett Central Trojans vs. Pine Forest Trojans
Harnett Central is 0-4 against Pine Forest since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Harnett Central will be strutting in after a victory while Pine Forest will be coming in after a defeat.
Harnett Central's four-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They managed a 44-38 victory over Hobbton.
Harnett Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quan Dixon, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb McKinnis, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Pine Forest suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Triton by a score of 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Harnett Central's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5. As for Pine Forest, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Harnett Central took a serious blow against Pine Forest in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 65-36. Can Harnett Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
