Volleyball Recap: Evansville Central Comes Up Short

Evansville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Southridge Raiders. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-14.

Amiya Wheeler paced Evansville Central's offense, picking up 14 kills. Wheeler got some help from Lauren Lowe and her 15 assists. Wheeler was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Evansville Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Southridge, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 12-13 record.

Evansville Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Princeton on the 1st. As for Southridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against South Spencer on the 2nd.
