Recap: Youngker Roughriders vs. Buckeye Hawks

The Youngker Roughriders suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Buckeye, falling 56-26. Youngker has struggled against Buckeye recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Jazmine Ramirez was Youngker's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ramirez held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Buckeye was led to victory by Amayah Leyva and Tia Chapman. Leyva scored 15 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, while Chapman scored 12 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Chapman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Ramirez, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Youngker has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Buckeye, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Youngker will head out on the road to face off against Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Buckeye, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Estrella Foothills at 1:00 p.m. Estrella Foothills' defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Buckeye's offense will have their work cut out for them.
