Basketball Recap: Soulsville Takes a Loss

Soulsville lost against Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Soulsville Revolution took a blow against the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Phoenix, falling 84-52. While losing is never fun, the Revolution can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th in Tennessee, while the Phoenix are ranked 76th in Tennessee).

When it comes to explaining why Soulsville lost, don't look at JAKEEL TRUSS. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-14 en route to 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The contest was TRUSS' sixth in a row with at least 18 points. NICHOLAS WILLIAMS JR was another key player, putting up 11 points and three blocks.

Soulsville's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Soulsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-53 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 26th. Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
