Basketball Recap: Trinity Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It was a good run, but Trinity unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Copley Indians. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Indians are ranked 47th).

Trinity's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Iniya Charlton, who went 6 for 14 en route to 13 points, and Nilah Thornton, who posted 11 points. Charlton has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 35 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kanora Bryant, who had four points.

Trinity's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4. As for Copley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity will venture away from home to take on Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Copley, they will head out on the road to square off against Revere at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
