Recap: Leonardtown Raiders vs. Perry Hall Gators
The Leonardtown Raiders and the Perry Hall Gators squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Leonardtown Raiders had to settle for second. They received a tough blow as they fell 34-20 to the Gators. Leonardtown's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Jacob Floyd threw for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Philip Smith was his top target, picking up 31 receiving yards. On the ground, Isaac Sirvon eubanks rushed for 63 yards.
Perry Hall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacob Wagner led the charge by rushing for 127 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Perry Hall also got help from Corey Costner who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.
Leonardtown's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Perry Hall, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Leonardtown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Perry Hall's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mergenthaler Vo-Tech at 6:00 p.m. on November 24th. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech's defense has only allowed 5.4 points per game this season, so Perry Hall's offense will have their work cut out for Perry Hall.
